Why Partner with Beginnings

Hearing loss impacts many different aspects,

not just of the individual, but of our state and country as a whole.

Hearing Loss Impacts Education

Any hearing loss hampers the natural ability of children to learn incidentally, disrupting the very foundation on which all else builds.

Hearing Loss Impacts Health

Untreated hearing loss often results in reduced language skills, minimal communication/connection with caregivers, and increased negative behavior issues that contribute to or cause adverse childhood experiences.

Hearing Loss Impacts the Economy

A lack of proper early intervention for those who are deaf or hard of hearing can lead to delays. These individuals then struggle to find employment, becoming more dependent on government services.

Hearing Loss Impacts Child Abuse and Mental Health

Children with hearing loss are several times more vulnerable to mental health and behavioral problems than hearing children. Knowledge and accommodations are necessary for deaf/hard of hearing children to be successful.

Through our programs, Beginnings effectively addresses each of these impacts.
