Early Interventionist

This person specializes in helping families and babies get a good start right off the bat. This might be the same person as your Service Coordinator, but usually an Early Interventionist is an additional (extra important!) professional. Early interventionists will have special expertize in working with young children from 0-3 years old who are deaf or hard of hearing – and their families. He/She may visit you and your child 1-4 times a month to help you learn about your child’s hearing loss, help your family become involved in your child’s growth and progress, and help your child develop to become part of their community. This professional can help you get started immediately with communication and language development, even if your child’s hearing aids have not yet arrived. The Parent Education Specialists at Beginnings SC often talk with Early Interventionists and can even attend Individual Family Service Plan meetings with your family.
