Education and Awareness are key components when it comes to taking action on issues concerning hearing loss. Beginnings is at the forefront of educating those in SC about hearing loss and the importance of early intervention.

We utilize multiple techniques to bring hearing loss education and awareness to South Carolina including:

Webinars

As an exciting part of our Education and Awareness Program, we are also producing webinars – thanks to the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation in partnership with Central Carolina Community Foundation!

Language Labs Based on the Ling Thesaurus

As an exciting part of our Education and Awareness Program, we are also producing FREE Language Labs!

Many of you have seen or used the Ling Thesaurus – a collection of all the words and phrases a kid needs to know by the time they’re 8. Beginnings is here to give parents, child care professionals, teachers, and other professionals who work with children, some activity starters! Put this on your fridge and use these words nonstop for the next two weeks. Remember, a kid with hearing loss might have to be exposed to each word up to 30 times before it is learned. Snap a pic while you’re out doing some of these activities and tag us on social media with the hashtags: #BSCLanguageLab #LanguageLab!

We will post them here as they are produced:
